The Quicksilver Community

From vibrant discussions and high voter turnout to developers across the entire ecosystem routinely coming together to solve complex problems, it is clear that community is one of the most essential components of the Cosmos. As a zone anchored in Cosmos, Quicksilver is tethered to the Community in the same way, and our team has been consistently aiming at reflecting that in all aspects of the protocol. Through the protocol’s features and airdrop structure, we aim to give a voice to the whole of the Quicksilver community.

Who is the Quicksilver Community?

The stakers of all chains onboarded onto the protocol, as well as QCK holders and stakers, will represent the Quicksilver community. Through Quicksilver, DeFi participants will be able to benefit from staking, and stakers will be able to take advantage of DeFi without sacrificing their voting rights. The Quicksilver community will be able to onboard any IBC-connected, ICA-enabled zone via a governance proposal, meaning the Quicksilver community will also decide how the protocol will expand and develop over time.

プロトコルにオンボードされたすべてのチェーンのステーカー、およびQCKトークンの保有者とstakers(≒バリデーターにトークンをデリゲートしている人、以後stakers)は、Quicksilverコミュニティを代表することになります。Quicksilverを通じて、DeFiの参加者はステーキングの恩恵を受けることができ、stakersは投票権を犠牲にすることなくDeFiを利用することができます。Quicksilverコミュニティは、IBCに接続されたICA対応ゾーンにガバナンスの提案を通じて乗り込むことができます。つまり、Quicksilverコミュニティは、プロトコルの拡張と発展の方法を決定することもできるのです。

How does the protocol empower the community?

The Quicksilver community will decide the future of the protocol through on-chain governance. This will include decisions such as what chains will be onboarded, community-controlled fund spending, network parameter changes, and what validators of onboarded chains, if any, are restricted from the protocol. The protocol will also allow users to maintain their governance rights on onboarded chains, keeping its community empowered across the entire Cosmos. Through the Governance by Proxy feature, which will be released in the first upgrade post-Genesis, Quicksilver will mirror onboarded chains’ proposals for qAsset holders to vote on. Shortly before tally time, the protocol will cast these votes, allowing users to remain active members of their respective communities.

How can community members earn QCK?

Quicksilver’s native token, QCK, will be airdropped to stakers of all onboarded zones. The airdrop model will take into account how users stake, and not just how much. Its continuous airdrop model was also designed to take future community members into account, ensuring later adopters or entrants into the space are not disproportionately underrepresented.
Protocol users can also earn QCK through Participation Rewards, which will be distributed on an epochly basis to liquid stakers that choose to stake with decentralized and performant validators that are active in governance. Through this mechanism, the protocol not only encourages decentralization and validator governance participation, but also continuously rewards users with QCK tokens. By encouraging the two verticals mentioned above, Quicksilver also hopes to benefit the onboarded chains, and therefore, our shared communities.
Community is an integral part of the Cosmos, and as the Cosmos Liquid Staking Zone, Quicksilver will see that it remains strong and empowered.

QuicksilverのネイティブトークンであるQCKは、すべてのオンボードゾーンのステイカーにエアドロップされる予定です。エアドロップ・モデルは、ユーザーがどれだけステイクしているかだけでなく、どのようにステイクしているかも考慮されます。また、その継続的なエアドロップ・モデルは、将来のコミュニティ・メンバーを考慮し、後発組やスペースへの参入者が不釣り合いにならないように設計されています。

この報酬は、ガバナンスに積極的な分散型バリデーターにステークすることを選択したリキッドステーカーに、一定期間ごとに分配される予定です。このメカニズムにより、プロトコルは分散化とバリデータのガバナンスへの参加を促すだけでなく、ユーザーに対して継続的にQCKトークンの報酬を与えることができるのです。上記の2つのバーティカル(継続的なAirdropメカニズムと分散化)を奨励することで、Quicksilverは、オンボードチェーン、ひいては私たちが共有するコミュニティにも利益をもたらすことを期待しています。
